About Us
So, who are the Michigan T-Birds?
Let’s just say we’re not your average car club—and we like it that way.
We’re a quirky bunch of car nuts, road trip warriors, weekend mechanics, trivia champs, and Thunderbird dreamers. Some of us have owned our T-Birds for decades, others are still on the hunt for “the one.” You’ll find old-school pros who can rebuild an engine blindfolded, and total newbies learning to tell a carburetor from a cupholder. What brings us together? A legendary Ford, a dash of nostalgia, and a whole lotta good vibes.
Our Origin Story (Not Marvel, but Pretty Cool)
Legend has it, the Michigan T-Birds started with just a couple of friends and a big idea:
“Wouldn’t it be awesome to cruise Woodward together and talk T-Birds over burgers?”
Well, it was awesome—and then their friends joined in. And their friends’ friends. Next thing you know, we’ve got members all over Michigan (and a few beyond) swapping stories, parts, and bad puns about tailfins.
What Makes Us Tick
Forget secret handshakes and fancy jackets.
Here’s what you’ll find in our club:
- Passion for T-Birds: Doesn’t matter if yours is showroom-perfect, mid-restoration, or just a gleam in your eye—we’re all here for the same reason.
- Zero Judgement: Show up in a rusty ’79 or a flawless ’56—every T-Bird and every owner gets the same love.
- Plenty of Laughs: We don’t take ourselves too seriously. Garage fails, road trip mishaps, and mysterious engine noises are all part of the fun.
- A Helping Hand: Need a part? Stuck in your driveway? Want to decode a wiring diagram that looks like a subway map? Someone here has your back (and probably some spare tools).
Why We Keep Coming Back
Because every cruise is a new story.
Because nothing beats the rumble of a convoy of T-Birds rolling into a diner.
Because those “five-minute” fixes that turn into all-day hangouts are the best kind.
We’re not just about cars—we’re about friendship, community, and sharing the thrill of the open road (and maybe a few French fries).
